Follow these steps to access your ID card:

1. Create an account with Academic HealthPlans (AHP)
2. After registering with AHP, create an account with Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Illinois. To create your account, you will need to use your Member ID number.
3. Once both accounts are created, you can access your ID card using the BCBSIL App. Visit the link below to learn more about your ID card.

Follow these steps to find your Member ID:

1. Visit academichealthplans.com/findCoverage
2. Enter your school issued student ID number and date of birth
3. Click "Submit"

All full-time registered RFU students are automatically enrolled in this Student Health Insurance Plan at the end of the waiver period, unless proof of comparable coverage is furnished. Students enrolled in the Student Health Insurance plan may also cover their eligible Dependents.

A student must actively attend classes for at least the first 31 days after the date for which coverage is purchased unless he or she withdraws from classes due to an Injury or Sickness and the absence is an approved medical leave. Home study, correspondence, Internet classes and television (TV) courses do not fulfill the eligibility requirements that the student must actively attend classes. The Company maintains its right to investigate student status and attendance records to verify that the eligibility requirements have been met. If the Company discovers the eligibility requirements have not been met, its only obligation is refund of premium.

Eligible students who enroll may also insure their Dependents. Dependent enrollment must take place at the initial time of student enrollment (or within 30 days if tuition billed); exceptions to this rule are made for newborn or adopted children, or for Dependents who become eligible for coverage as the result of a qualifying event.

Continuation coverage is available for students who no longer meet eligibility.  Student must be enrolled previous semester to be eligible. All students and their dependent(s) can purchase 3 months of additional medical coverage. (Dental is not available.) Continuation must be purchased within thirty (30) days of the current coverage termination date.

Dental and Vision coverage are not available.

Click the button below if you have a medical leave of absence from your department and are eligible for the Student Health Insurance Plan. Enrollment will not be completed until reviewed and approved. All Premium will be paid directly to AHP. You must have been enrolled in the Student Health Insurance Plan for 6+ months in order to be eligible.
